The CD4060 is a highly versatile CMOS-based 14-stage ripple-carry binary counter integrated circuit that features a built-in oscillator. Belonging to the popular CD4000 logic family, this IC is an excellent choice for designing precise time delays, clock generators, long-duration timers, and frequency dividers. With just a few external passive components (resistors and capacitors), its internal oscillator can be configured as an RC or crystal oscillator, eliminating the need for an external clock source. It provides 10 buffered outputs (Q4 to Q14, excluding Q1, Q2, and Q3), where each subsequent output divides the frequency of the previous one by two.
